A Winter Day Keeping South Dakota Homes Warm and Cozy

Morning Briefing – 6:30 AM

The winter chill greets me as I pull into our shop in Sioux Falls. After grabbing my morning coffee, I review the day’s heating system service calls across the region. Today’s schedule includes stops in Brandon and Tea, with emergency calls always a possibility.

First Call – 8:00 AM

Our first stop is a furnace replacement in Brandon. The homeowner’s 20-year-old unit finally gave out during last week’s cold snap. We’re installing a new high-efficiency system that will keep their family comfortable while reducing their energy bills.

Emergency Call – 11:30 AM

Between scheduled appointments, we receive an urgent call from Harrisburg. An elderly couple’s heating system stopped working overnight. We quickly respond, diagnosing and repairing a faulty ignitor. Their relief when warm air starts flowing again makes this job rewarding.

Afternoon Service – 2:00 PM

The afternoon takes us to Tea for routine maintenance. Regular service helps prevent:
– System breakdowns
– Carbon monoxide risks
– Inefficient operation
– Expensive repairs

End of Day – 5:30 PM

Back at the shop, I complete paperwork and prepare for tomorrow. Every day brings different challenges, but keeping our neighbors warm during harsh South Dakota winters makes it all worthwhile.

Remember, preventive maintenance is crucial. Don’t wait until your heating system fails during the coldest days of winter.
