Morning Preparations – 6:30 AM
The day starts early at St. Pierre’s Services as we prepare for another busy day of helping our Louisiana neighbors stay comfortable. After a quick check of the day’s schedule and weather forecast, I load up the service truck with essential parts and diagnostic equipment.
First Call – 8:00 AM
Our first stop takes us to Destrehan, where a homeowner reports their furnace making unusual noises. These early morning calls are crucial, especially during our Louisiana winter months when temperatures can dip unexpectedly low.
Mid-Morning Service – 10:30 AM
Heading to Luling for a scheduled maintenance check. Preventative maintenance is vital for keeping heating systems running efficiently. I thoroughly inspect the:
– Heat exchanger
– Blower motor
– Thermostat functionality
– Air filters
– Safety controls
Afternoon Repairs – 2:00 PM
After lunch, I’m off to LaPlace for an emergency heating repair. This is why we always keep our trucks well-stocked with common repair parts. When temperatures drop, having a reliable heating system isn’t just about comfort—it’s about safety.
End of Day – 5:30 PM
Before heading back to headquarters, I complete a final service call in St. Rose. Today’s been typical of our winter season: a mix of maintenance, repairs, and system checks across our service area.
What makes this job rewarding is knowing we’re helping keep local families warm and comfortable through the winter months. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to serve our community, whether in Des Allemands or any of our other service areas.
Remember, regular maintenance is key to preventing those middle-of-the-night emergency calls. It’s always better to catch small issues before they become major problems.
